CREATIVE DIRECTOR - Ewan McCarthy

Ewan is a co-founder of Bright 3D, with over 20 years experience in exhibition and interior design. His extensive experience and knowledge of both the design and programme management of temporary and permanent exhibitions, retail environments and visitor experiences has been applied to clients such as Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh – Oman Botanic Gardens – North York Moors National Park – Wrexham Borough County Museum – Dobbies Garden Centres. Ewan is the creative force behind the team at Bright 3D design.

Operations Director - Harry Fisher

Harry is a co-founder of Bright 3D having previously been a production director with a leading Scottish design agency where he controlled and project managed all elements of manufacturing and build. He has qualifications in exhibition and museum design and gained extensive design and technical experience working initially as a Senior Designer for Tayburn Design, London and then as Production Manager for a London exhibition and shopfitting contractor. Harry also acted as design & technical consultant and Advisor on Grants to the Southern Federation of Museums and Art Galleries and the Area Museums Service for the South East of England.

Business Director - Kate McHugh

A co-founder of Bright 3D, Kate is responsible for business development, marketing and the overall operational aspect of the company. She has always been committed to providing clients with the highest levels of customer service and focused design solutions. Kate has over 20 years experience in marketing services and communications. She has worked client side, holding senior marketing positions at Lloyd's of London and Thus, and agency side with RedCell and Northcross Design.

Designers

GRAPHIC DESIGN CONSULTANT - Martin Tilley

Martin has worked for the international design groups of Wolff Olins, Pentagram and Trickett & Webb, before running his own business, Tilley & Tilley. He has over 20 years graphic design experience, working for many public and private sector clients, including Arup, BBC, Corporation of London, English Heritage, Glasgow City Council, Glenmorangie plc, Levi Strauss, The Lighthouse, London Transport, National Museums of Science and Industry, National Grid, RSPCA, Rolls Royce & Bentley Motor Cars, Rosehaugh Stanhope, RCAHMS, Phaidon, Scottish Arts Council, and Tate. He has lectured and taught at Edinburgh College of Art, and design awards include D&AD, Donside, New York Art Directors Club, Royal Society of Arts and the Scottish Design Awards.

Senior Designer - Paul Beech

Paul has 13 years of experience in a range of architectural and interior design projects both in the private and public sectors. In the early 1990’s he initially qualified as an architectural technician prior to undertaking a degree in interior architecture at Napier University where he graduated in 1999. While his main field is interior architecture his experience and qualifications in architectural technology allows him to be involved in projects that may be out with the usual scope of interior design. In 2003 Paul qualified as a full Member of the Chartered Society of Designers. He has worked on a variety of projects within the retail, bar, leisure, educational, commercial office, and law and order sectors. Paul also brings to Bright 3D an excellent working knowledge of various design software packages such as Autocad, NBS and Sketch-up. Projects which Paul has worked on include Dobbies Garden Centres, Museum East Anglia Life, Brecon Beacons Waterfall Centre, and the Oman Botanic Garden.

Senior 3D Designer - Howard Jones

Howard brings over 10 years of experience in bespoke Exhibition and Retail Design & Build, from his years working for agencies and manufacturers in both London and Edinburgh.

 

Graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a BA(hons) in 3D Product Design, Howard's skills of concept sketching, CGI visualisation and technical detail drawing are put to good use in each and every project.

 

Since joining Bright 3D, Howard has been involved in a wide range of projects including: Brecon Beacons Waterfalls Centre, Museum of East Anglian Life, City Centre regeneration for Manchester City Council, Wrexham County Borough Museum and Dobbies Garden Centres.

3D Designer - Fi Cameron

After graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee with a BDes (Hons) in Interior and Environmental Design, Fi worked for 3 years in the commercial A+D community on a range of workplace, commercial and retail design projects, for a number of Bluechip organisations such as Motorola, Diageo, Deutschebank and Jenners. Fi also brings to Bright 3D, her knowledge and expertise in commercial contract furniture after working for 2 years in this sector. Since joining Bright 3D in 2005, Fi has worked on a wide range of projects including Dobbies Garden Centres, Laing Jewellers, Our Dynamic Earth and our very own new Design Studio here in the Sugarbond.

3D Designer - James Simpson

James brings a diverse skill set to the team with a background in 3D Design, Graphic Design and Architecture. Graduating in 2004 from an innovative multidisciplinary course at Napier University in Edinburgh with a BDes (Hons) in Design Futures, with previous study in Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art. James has also worked as a graphic designer with clients in the public and voluntary sector including NHS Scotland. James’ expertise is both technical and creative with a knowledge of User-centred research techniques, Environmental Design and a sound understanding of materials, technology and skills in a range of design packages. Since joining Bright 3D James has worked on a variety of projects including Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Oman Botanic Garden and exhibition work for Dobbies Garden Centres.

3D Designer - Keira McDonald

After studying Art and Design in Belfast, Keira moved to Scotland to complete a BA (Hons) in Interior Design at Edinburgh College of Art. Following this Keira graduated in 2007 from a project-led Masters in Interior Architectural Design, where she undertook design challenges for BAA, Edinburgh. She has been involved in various design workshops, mostly notable IMIAD Workshop 2007 in Istanbul. She is a keen problem solver who brings a fresh, innovate approach to the design process. Since joining Bright 3D she has been involved with a variety of projects including Oman Botanical Gardens, various Dobbies stores and designed signage for the City of Edinburgh Council.

Managers

Project Manager - Sarah Dowsett

After graduating from Dundee University with an MA (Hons) in English Literature, Sarah moved to Madrid where she worked as a translator and interpreter for an international law firm. She returned to the UK in 1996 to take up a position as project manager for an Edinburgh based company where she worked on a wide variety of projects over a period of 10 years. Sarah joined the team at Bright 3D in 2006 and has been involved with projects at Edinburgh Zoo, the Beauly Visitor Centre in Inverness, the Velux Company, Oman Botanic Garden, Newport Museum & Art Gallery and Sharp Manufacturing among others.

Business Development Manager - Barbara Hamilton

Making Bright 3D the 'company of choice' with our current and prospective clients is Barbara’s mission. Using her background in marketing and business development gained across a variety of business sectors – from software to food marketing on both client and agency side – Barbara puts together the marketing and business development programmes which get us in front of clients.

Finance Manager - Jill Baur

Jill joined Bright 3D in 2004 bringing with her over 15 years of financial management experience gained in companies such as Graphic Partners. Jill is responsible for the financial smooth running of projects on behalf of both Bright 3D and the client. She runs a tight ship and keeps the staff and the company on the straight and narrow.
