Newport Museum

The project was to provide a gallery within the existing Newport Museum which would tell the extraordinary story of the discovery and ongoing process of preserving the medieval ship. The exhibition tells the story of the ship’s origin and its historical links with trade in Newport. A number of important artefacts discovered with the ship – including coins, shoes, clothes and ancient carvings – are displayed. The displays also include interactive elements specifically designed for children, eg a ‘Pulley Game’ to demonstrate how pulley’s work and a series of sense-based interactives.

In addition, within the warehouse where the ship was being analysed and preserved we also created two large introductory graphic displays.
