Mill on the Fleet

Preparation of a feasibility study for the redevelopment of the existing visitor centre. The Mill is a listed building at the heart of Gatehouse and serves as a multi purpose, multi audience venue. It currently operates as exhibition space, a book shop, café, gift shop and gallery space. The objective was to provide a comprehensive report that reviewed and made recommendations for the future development of the Mill, including detailed interpretation of the story of the Mill and the surrounding area. Emphasis has been placed on renewable energy, given the historical connection and may include the introduction of a geo thermal heating system which will form part of the interpretation.

The resulting report which contained interpretive schemes, plans and concept designs is now being used to raise appropriate funds for implementation.
